Our responsibility

H&H helps companies and organisations reach their targets and create measurable value using communication that builds trust. It is vital to H&H that we conduct our business in a responsible manner. Over and above the statutory requirements in different areas, we define our responsibility in relation to our most important stakeholders. To ensure that we create long-term value we are keen to maintain good working relations, a high level of customer confidence and responsibility for our environmental impact.

Our underlying values

Our underlying values are reflected in our vision and business concept and in the teamwork and leadership that we discuss each year in performance reviews. The following concepts are central aspects of our underlying values:

  • Creating value
  • Insight and trust
  • Consideration and respect
  • Responsibility and confidence
  • Professionalism and business-mindedness

Our underlying values are of great importance to us and we plan to initiate a major project relating to these issues.

Responsibility to our customers

Customer assignments always have the utmost priority. We shall always respond to the confidence our customers show in us by placing their contracts with us by being totally loyal to our customers’ interests.

In our attitude towards our customers it is essential that we are always:

  • Honest and candid with the object of giving the customer the best advice and the best service.
  • All contacts with the customer shall be characterised by the highest possible level of service, including a rapid response, regular feedback and the minimum of errors.
  • As flexible as possible so as to handle changing conditions in a way that is best for the customer.
  • Responsive to each customer’s needs and regularly seek feedback in order to make continuous improvements.
  • H&H is a member of the Association of Public Relations Consultancies in Sweden and complies with the association’s standards.

Our ethical principles

At H&H we strive always to behave in accordance with established ethical principles. This is the point of departure for the confidence we build up in our customer relations. This is the reason why we have a number of internal policies that regulate the way we handle confidential information, questions from the media, communication about our customer contracts, trading in shares in customer companies (insider trading), computer security and social media. These policies apply without exception to all of H&H’s personnel.

H&H has a Compliance Officer who has responsibility for these issues, to whom employees can refer at any time.

H&H as an employer

H&H’s vision is to be the leading consultant in corporate communications. By this we mean that we create value not only for our customers but also for our personnel and our owners.

Development and flexibility create an attractive workplace

We see the concept of value in a broader perspective. By creating value for personnel we mean not only salaries and other financial incentives but also, for instance, personal and professional development and quality of life by providing opportunities for balance and flexibility between work and leisure.

This is one of the means we employ to become the most attractive employer in our sector.

Sound labour market practice

We adhere to generally accepted practice on the Swedish labour market in terms of employment conditions and we are keen to comply with the rules that regulate the relationship between employer and employee. Our remuneration packages are in line with those on the market and we have a pay policy and an incentive programme that supports long-term value and indicates clearly how the employee can influence his or her salary.

A sound work environment and long-term health

We aim to design our workplace in such a way so that it promotes good health, both physically and mentally. We provide the individually designed aids and support that are needed for a sound work environment and long-term good health.

Continuous improvements based on feedback

By making use of regular development reviews and employee surveys our senior management personnel and the organisation as a whole obtain feedback on which to base continuous improvements.

The HR director at H&H has responsibility for initiating, supporting, coordinating and following up HR related issues.

Equality of opportunity and diversity

For us at H&H having a company characterised by equality of opportunity goes without saying. We therefore reject all forms of discrimination based on gender or trans-gender identity or expression, ethnicity, religion or any other faith, disability, sexual orientation or age.

We always endeavour to have a balanced gender distribution both in the company and in project teams, as well as in contexts where we meet customers. We believe that by adopting this approach we promote creativity, create a sound foundation for customer relations and in the longer term contribute to our profitability.

H&H adopts a pro-active approach to equality of opportunity partly through day-to-day activities relating to our Equality of Opportunity plan and partly through our Equality of Opportunity Task Force where matters pertaining to equality of opportunity are discussed with representatives of the whole company.

Our environmental responsibility

H&H endeavours to continuously improve the company’s environmental activities and to minimise our own environmental impact and that of our customers. All employees have a responsibility to contribute to these efforts.

Environmental consideration in connection with purchasing, production and waste

The environment is taken into consideration in connection with the purchasing of products and services as well as travel and delivery services. We also take active measures to sort our waste at source into paper, hard plastic, light bulbs and expired electronic equipment.

In order to reduce energy consumption the servers have been made virtual and the office lighting in the common spaces is automatically switched off outside of office hours.

When producing printed material we make exclusive use of FSC-certified printers and endeavour to persuade our customers to choose environmentally friendly alternatives whenever possible.

Our responsibility in society

H&H supports organisations and companies in a variety of ways as a means of strengthening the society and the environment in which we do business. This is an important way of maintaining our reputation and thus of our ability to do business.

The organisations that H&H supports are engaged in activities that are in harmony with H&H’s underlying values and have a close and natural connection with our business.

We share our skills and capabilities

We primarily support organisations by sharing our unique skills and capabilities. In some cases we support certain projects financially, but we consider that we can make a more worthwhile contribution by means of specific input within our areas of competence.

For example H&H supports university students working on their dissertations, participates in courses at university and invites students to H&H on study visits and to hear lectures.

We support organisations and not-for-profit projects

We support organisations that are engaged in areas that are close to us, such as the ISO26000, the new guidelines for social responsibility.

Other organisations we support are:

  • Swedish Society of Financial Analysts (SFF)
  • Swedish Association of Environmental Managers (NMC)
  • Sweden’s Investor Relations Association (SIRA)

H&H also carries out a number of pro bono projects in collaboration with selected organisations. In 2009 H&H has supported the Swedish National Association for Persons with Intellectual Disability (FUB) by providing information about communication and the media.

Decisions on what support H&H will give are made by the company’s CEO on the basis of the approach described above.
