The annual awards ceremony for the best website in Europe was held at Hallvarsson & Halvarsson offices in Stockholm, in collaboration with EPiServer.
Some thirty companies attended the ceremony when the European winner was announced. For the second consecutive year oil and gas company ENI won, for their innovative and informative website. Second and third place went to UniCredit and Telecom Italia, both also from Italy.
H&H Webranking annually surveys the 500 largest companies in Europe to determine the best corporate website based on the capital market’s needs and demands.
The annual ranking of corporate websites is altered each year to accommodate for the demand from analysts, journalists and investors. In addition trends and changes affect what companies are communicating via the website. The crash following Lehman Brothers’ bankruptcy resulted in companies becoming more restrained with IR and Corporate Governance information. Trends in social media, which is very popular now, have been added to the protocol as target groups often make use of them. There are several channels that companies today are using to reach their target audiences.
Prizes for the three highest ranked Swedish companies were also presented. Trelleborg won for their website’s strength which derivs from an all encompassing performance and use of interactive tables. Swedish Match and SKF came on second and third place.
