H&H Webranking in the Gulf Region

Companies in the Gulf region have for the first time been ranked by H&H Webranking. 85 companies in five countries have been surveyed and the winners were announced October 7th 2009 in Dubai.

A large number of listed companies in the Gulf region have during the last couple of years grown and the area has received a lot of international recognition. This has led to the region becoming a part of the annual surveying of corporate websites held by H&H Webranking.

85 companies from Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia are included in the ranking. They show good results in corporate information, technology and start pages among other things. However there are obvious weaknesses in areas such as financial information, Corporate Governance and calendars showing important dates. The spread of the result data has been large and some companies have received a score of zero. The survey brings attention to the importance of a good and informative website and H&H has previously noticed a clear trend in improved websites as a result of the ranking.

The winner of H&H Webranking Gulf Cooperations Council 2009 is the real estate giant EMAAR of UAE with the nomination ” EMAAR’s website has a well developed Investor Relations section which offers information that is highly requested by the capital market, such as presentations, financial figures and a lot of share-related information”. Abu Dhabi National Energy Company came second followed by mobile telephone company ZAIN on third.

The prize ceremony was held October 7th 2009 at the prestigious Capital Club, Dubai International Financial Centre. Members of Hallvarsson & Halvarsson and sister companyM:Communications were present.
