H&H launches social media newsroom

Monday, March 09, 2009

H&H expands the web services and launches a social media newsroom as a standard application when developing and offering corporate websites.

A social media newsroom takes the corporate websites’ news and pressroom to a whole new level by integrating different types of media and content flows together with traditional press releases in one location. As more and more companies have started using social media such as blogs, micro-blogs and video and image services there is also a need to gather and re-use all this material on the corporate website.

The traditional pressroom with the chronological list of press releases and news has mainly targeted journalists and analysts. The social media newsroom however targets a broader audience: journalists, bloggers, customers, partners, students, employees and investors among others.

H&H’s social media newsroom will shortly be integrated as a standard application when developing corporate websites based on EpiServer, and in the future on other CMS as well. The web editors will be able to choose among the modules to appear on their newsroom, for example:

  • The latest videos from their own YouTube channel
  • Latest images from the Flickr account
  • Links to corporate blogs or micro-blogs
  • Geo-tagging of specific news in Google maps

The content of a social media newsroom is categorised through tags and all material is shareable and spreadable. Subscription via RSS is also a standard functionality.
